Who needs a gym when you can follow these female fitness YouTube channels instead?

I can’t believe I’ve officially been working out from home for a year. Before the pandemic I used to lift weights at my neighborhood gym five days a week. I haven’t lifted a weight in one whole year.

This past year I’ve focused on at home workouts consisting of HITT (High Intensity Interval Training), Pilates, and daily walks. I’ve learned that there are countless bodyweight exercises and every fitness app and influencer I’ve followed has challenged me in a new way.

There are plenty of paid online programs out there, but if you’re looking to get fit on a budget, then check out my favorite fitness influencers who release workout videos on YouTube and Instagram (for free!).

Equipment You Need For At Home Workouts

At the start of the pandemic I jumped on all of the free fitness app trials – yoga, Pilates, and cardio workouts. Home workouts can get boring since you’re only using body weight, but you can always spice them up with resistance bands and weights (check out these 5-in-1 adjustable dumbbells). I’m pretty frugal so I’m still going strong with no equipment workouts and I am down to my college weight!

The only equipment you truly need is a yoga mat and some sneakers. I would recommend splurging for a non slip yoga mat so you can have an easier time doing mountain climbers! I personally use the Lululemon yoga mat (I got it for free from an event-here is a more affordable alternative.)

I would also recommend this phone stand to hold your tablet or phone up while you watch the workout videos! If you’re on a budget, you can just lean it up against a wall and that’ll do the trick!

My Favorite Fitness YouTube Accounts

1. Blogilates

Forget pushups, there are other ways to tone your arms! Blogilates offers a large variety of Pilates workouts but her arm ones are my favorite. She finds unique ways to target your upper body without any equipment! Plus her cute dog makes an appearance every once in a while.

2. Boho Beautiful Yoga

Every year I make it a goal to incorporate more yoga into my fitness routine but I end up falling off the habit. Boho Beautiful’s YouTube page offers yoga videos for all levels and they film them all over the world!

3. Pamela Reif

Pamela’s HIIT workouts are amazing! They’re fast paced and effective. Her ab trainings are intense but they get the job done.

4. POPSUGAR Fitness

This fitness YouTube channel has a collection of all of your favorite celebrity trainers (Kayla Itsines, Jeannette Jenkins, and more!) They have a huge collection of different workouts so you’ll never get bored.

5. Growing Annanas

My newest fitness obsession is Growing Annanas. She has 28 day challenges to get you started off, and workout videos ranging from 10-60 minutes long! I’m following her workout routines to get me ready for this summer’s beach season.

I’ve honestly enjoyed working out at home this past year so I will continue exploring new fitness YouTube channels even once I am ready to go back to the gym. So, if you’re looking to save money or just incorporate a new fitness regime then check out these female fitness YouTube channels!
